PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent carrying nose by looseness of printing paper, while saving a space by a simple structure, in a printer having a plurality of paper feeding passages. SOLUTION: This paper feeding mechanism of the printer is provided for forming an image by an image forming part 110 on the printing paper carried on a carrying passage, and includes three paper feeding passages FR1-FR3 and a guide member 215 for regulating carrying of the paper in the respective paper feeding passages FR1-FR3 so that confluent points C1 and C2 of the mutual respective paper feeding passages do not coincide with each other. The respective paper feeding passages FR1-FR3 have respectively widened parts 211-213 for loosening the printing paper in paper feeding on the upstream side of the guide member 215.
