<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device which allows a SMA to be stably fixed thereto and energization member to be connected thereto without hindering the miniaturization of the device and causing any influence on the performance of the SMA. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A driving device provided with a string-like shape memory alloy as a driving source has: a base member which is taken as a base of the driving device; a rod-like terminal made of metal which passes through the base member to be fixed thereto and forcing one end side to be caulked to sandwich the shape memory alloy; and a cutting piece terminal which is electrically connected to the other end side of the rod-like terminal. The cutting piece terminal keeps on one end side of the cutting piece terminal an abutment part abutting on the other end side of the rod-like terminal and on the other end side of the cutting piece terminal a current carrying connection part having a current carrying member for supplying current to the shape memory alloy, and is held by prescribed members.
