<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire including a belt in which a metal filament is used, and reducing the weight without losing durability, and to provide a manufacturing method having high production efficiency of the tire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a carcass 4 stretching over a pair of right and left bead parts and troidally extending as a frame, and a belt 5 arranged outside in a tire radial direction of a crown area of the carcass 4. The belt 5 is formed of a strip-shaped member with a width of 100 mm or less, in which metal filaments of 80 pieces or more per 50 mm width are coated with rubber.
