<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cholesterol synthesis promoter composed of a naturally-occurring substance as an active ingredient, an HMG-CoA reductase mRNA expression promoter, a hyaluronic acid production promoter and an HAS3 mRNA expression promoter. <P>SOLUTION: The cholesterol synthesis promoter is at least one of an extract of licorice leaf and a flavanone compound represented by formula (1) (R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each selected from any of combinations of (A) to (C): (A) when R<SB>1</SB>is hydrogen, R<SB>2</SB>is hydrogen; (B) when R<SB>1</SB>is hydroxy, R<SB>2</SB>is 3-methyl-2-butenyl; and (C) when R<SB>1</SB>is methoxy, R<SB>2</SB>is hydrogen). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
