<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely maintain communication between a management device and a managed device even when a failure occurs to a network or a server. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the management system where the management device and the managed device are communicably connected at least by one communication system and which is set to a bilateral communication system in an initial state, when the managed device cannot receive a request sent from the management device, the managed device changes the communication system to the unilateral communication system, transmits transmission data of predetermined contents to the management device at predetermined timing and when it receives the request later, the managed device changes the communication system to the bilateral communication system to transmit a response to the request to the management device. Furthermore, when the management device cannot transmit the request to the managed device or when the management device cannot receive the response to the request from the managed device, the management device suspends an operation of transmitting the request, and when it receives the response to the request later, the management device performs control to resume the operation for transmitting the request.
