<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a server and a method for estimating a position which enable estimation of the current position in a situation not allowing utilization of GPS. <P>SOLUTION: The position estimating system includes a mobile communication terminal, the server and a communication network. The mobile communication terminal photographs surroundings by a camera device and sends the photographed image data to the server. The server has an image position management database which makes position information correspond to image data, and extracts a feature value of the image data received from the mobile communication terminal, compares the extracted feature value with the feature value of respective image data in the image position management database and selects one or more image data having a high degree of similarity, and estimates the position information corresponding to the selected image data group, as the current position of the mobile communication terminal, and sends the selected image data group and the position information to the terminal.
