<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which appropriately collects misty liquid droplets of a fixing liquid, which droplets have not been imparted to a toner image, and suppresses contamination by the misty liquid droplets; and to provide an image forming apparatus with the fixing device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a fixing liquid application means 41, the fixing liquid 44 stored in a fixing liquid reservoir 43 is sprayed in the form of liquid droplets 46 by a spray means 45. The sprayed liquid droplets 46 ride on an air current generated by an air current supply means 47, and then, are applied through the opening 48a of a spray chamber 48 to the toner image on a recording material P conveyed by a conveying belt 61. In a fixing liquid collecting means 42, the fixing liquid droplets 52 that have not been applied to the toner image on the recording material P are collected into a collection container 53 through a fixing liquid collection tube 50 along the air current. In this case, a second charging means 51 is provided in the fixing liquid collection tube 50, then, the fixing liquid droplets 52 that have not been applied to the toner image is attracted into the collection tube 50 by a potential difference from that of the second charging means 51, then, collected into the collection container 53.
