PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling marking in a pressing machine which can reduce error of lowering end between the first marking and the second and later marking while maintaining the lowering speed at a specified value and, at the same time, can establish marking that can maintain the marking accuracy. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a ram position-speed computing part 33, an external deceleration determining part 35, an external deceleration speed setting part 36, a speed restoration determining part 37, a restoration speed setting part 38, and a memory 31 storing external deceleration information. The speed is increased while lowering a ram 17 from the top dead center. The speed is decreased when the ram 17 is determined to reach a position near a lifting end. The deceleration is released when the ram has reached the lowering end. The above constitution can reduce error of lowering end between the first marking and the second and later marking.
