PURPOSE: A display apparatus and a method for displaying a menu of the same are provided to simultaneously display an upper step menu and a lower step menu. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(11) displays a menu including a plurality of items. A user selection unit(12) selects one item from the menu. If a first display mode is set, a control unit(13) controls the display unit to simultaneously display the selected item and a lower step menu which corresponds to the selected item. If a second display mode is set, the control unit controls the display unit to minimize the items and simultaneously displays the items with the lower step menu.
