<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine that communication is established, while taking internal information of devices into consideration, when the devices are to be connected to one another. <P>SOLUTION: When a function substrate 10 is connected to a processing substrate 30, a light-emitting unit 14 emits a light for communication establishment, prior to the communication of actual data etc. The output light is received by a light-receiving unit 34. An average light reception level detecting unit 50 detects the light received by the light-receiving unit 34 and calculates the average light reception level, based on the light. An optical communication establishment determining unit 60 acquires the average light reception level, from the average light reception level detection unit 50 and determines whether communication is available between the function substrate 10 and processing substrate 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
