<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program for retrieving a graphic symbol for an apparatus or a device, allowing easier retrieval of the graphic symbol of the apparatus or the device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The program for retrieving the graphic symbol for the apparatus or the device makes a computer function as: a means for making a handwriting input module be displayed; a means for making graphic data be displayed in the handwriting input module; a means for extracting graphic symbol data based on the graphic data displayed in the handwriting input module; and a means for making the extracted graphic symbol data be displayed.
