[Also in Division E2] An adjustable abutment means for a pivotally mounted panel member 10 comprises a support member 24, a self-piercing nut 26 secured to one of said members, said nut comprising a flange 32, a generally tubular threaded portion 28 connected by a body portion 34 and a plurality of piercing tabs 30 formed on the flange to extend through said one member and bent thereagainst to retain the member 24, a screw 38 with a threaded shank portion received by the tubular portion 28 and a head portion 42, a resilient abutment 48 generally received about the screw-head, and a tool engaging surface on the screw for enabling adjustment of the screw relative to the member 24 to cause the resilient abutment to abut against the other member 10 in a desired position. The resilient abutment member 48 has an annular recess 46 which engages a flange 44 on the screw-head and an opening 50 to allow access to the screwhead. The tubular portion 28 is flattened on either side to exert a locking action on the screw. |
