The invention relates to a integrated standby instrument and a calibration method for the integrated standby instrument. Such an instrument allows flight information to be determined and displayed in a stand--alone manner. It is employed in the case of failure of the primary instruments of the aircraft. The object of the invention consists in determining and in displaying, also in a stand-alone manner, a heading followed by the aircraft. For this purpose, a computer (28) in the instrument (10) allows a heading of the aircraft to be determined using a magnetic field sensor and allows the magnetic field sensor to be calibrated. The screen of the instrument (10) allows the heading and a guide for the calibration of the magnetic field sensor to be displayed.
