PURPOSE: A CAN(Controller Area Network) bus error detection method for a vehicle is provided to prevent the malfunction of a vehicle and ensure stable driving of the vehicle by detecting an error of the CAN bus from the transmission state of CAN message. CONSTITUTION: A CAN bus error detection method for a vehicle comprises the steps of: determining whether the transmission state of CAN message is in a CAN bus-off state when one or more of control units transmit the CAN message to another(101,102), if so, repeating an error detection event(104,105,106,107), and deciding an error of the CAN bus based on the number of executions of error detection event(110,111).
