PURPOSE: An antilock brake system is provided to accurately determine the state of a road and the reference speed of an ABS by estimating the initial pressure when the ABS starts operating, using the relation between the deceleration and the braking pressure of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An antilock brake system comprises a sensor(20), a braking force regulator(30) and a controller(40). The sensor detects the deceleration and the braking pressure of a vehicle. The braking force regulator controls the brake fluid pressure provided to the wheel cylinder of the vehicle. The controller estimates the initial pressure when the ABS starts operating, using the deceleration and braking pressure of the vehicle. |
