<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample analyzer capable of sharply imaging the contour of a particle of erythrocyte, or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This sample analyzer 10 is equipped with a flow cell 30 for forming a sample flow, and an imaging system 24 for acquiring a particle image by imaging a particle contained in the sample flow in the flow cell 30. The imaging system 24 has a light source 61 for irradiating near ultraviolet light to the sample flow in the flow cell 30, and a camera 64 for imaging the particle in the sample flow irradiated with the near ultraviolet light from the light source 61.
