PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for hot repair of a carbonization chamber of a coke oven that allows replacement of a brick of a carbonization chamber wall to be carried out while radiant heat from a combustion chamber is effectively blocked when hot repair of the carbonization chamber is carried out by replacing the brick of the carbonization chamber wall of a coke oven with a new brick, and that prevents a crack or the like from being generated in the new brick when the new brick is heated to raise the temperature thereof by radiant heat transfer and conductive heat transfer from the combustion chamber adjacent to the repaired carbonization chamber after the hot repair of the carbonization chamber is carried out by replacing the brick of the carbonization chamber wall with the new brick. SOLUTION: After a mat-like insulating material 23 is attached on the carbonization chamber wall 11b opposed to the carbonization chamber wall 11a where the replacement of the brick 19 of the carbonization chamber wall is to be carried out, a heat-insulation board 25 thinner than the insulating material 23 is disposed on the front side of the insulating material 23. The replacement of the brick 19 of the carbonization chamber wall is carried out while the surface of the insulating material 23 is covered with the heat-insulation board 25, and the new brick is heated to raise the temperature by the radiant heat transfer and conductive heat transfer from the combustion chamber 12 while the insulating material 23 remains after the replacement of the brick of the carbonization chamber wall.
