PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device having a dictionary function, which reproduces voice according to a text desired by a user while allowing the user to more efficiently learn the reproduced text. SOLUTION: When the character string of an example sentence R displayed on a dictionary information display screen G is touched by a pen, the voice data of the example sentence R is read, the voice reproduction is started from a word including the character touched by the pen, and a contour B surrounding the uttered character string is displayed, and colored background C to C'' are displayed based on color densities according to the number of utterances for each word. When the number of utterances stored and managed for each word of the example sentence R reaches a predetermined value (e.g., 3), a message screen M showing whether the word is registered or not (Y/N) as vocabulary notebook data is displayed, and the word is registered in the vocabulary notebook only by operating a "Y" key. Thus, a word considered as important for a user who has repeatedly reproduces voice a predetermined number of times is automatically determined to be registered as vocabulary notebook data.
