<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can output an excellent image by preventing occurrence of an image void caused by triboelectrification between recording material and an insulating member. <P>SOLUTION: A pre-transfer guide 20 for guiding the recording material 101 to a transfer part where a transfer member 119 is arranged includes a transfer upper guide 116 located on a printing surface side of the recording material 101 and a transfer lower guide 117 located on a non-printing surface side of the recording material 101. The transfer upper guide 116 includes a sheet member 118 having a free end on a downstream side in a recording material conveying direction.
