<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking error signal detection apparatus capable of materializing the device of a DPD system as a fast and highly accurate digital circuit, and to provide an optical disk apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The TE detection apparatus 100 includes a noninversion part 200 and an inversion part 210, and takes out phase difference information based on correlation detection by a differential Hilbert system. In the TE detection apparatus 100, when taking out phase difference information based on correlation detection by the differential Hilbert system, frequency characteristics different between a differential inversion path and a noninversion path are set, thereby achieving a wide frequency detection range.
