<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device wherein a distance between an organic EL unit being a light source and a liquid crystal display unit is short and substantially uniform. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes a light emitting unit (organic EL unit) 20 and a memory display unit (liquid crystal display unit) 10 wherein a transparent sealing substrate 45 on which a counterbore part 45a sealing the light emitting unit 20 is formed is disposed and a photoconductive layer 52 of which the electric resistance value is reduced in response to reception of light emitted from the light emitting unit 20 is provided.
