PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cracks or chips on a substrate in a display device. SOLUTION: The display device includes first and second substrates at least either one of which has light transmittance and which are fixed so as to be opposed to each other through a predetermined distance, and a pixel area arranged between the first and second substrates. The end face position of the second substrate is projected from the end face position of the first substrate. Further, the second substrate from a portion of the second substrate, which corresponds to the end face position of the first substrate, up to the end face position of the second substrate is a taper-like shape in plan view.
