FUEL CELL STACK AND FUEL CELL SYSTEM

A fuel cell stack is provided by stacking two or more fuel cell layers each of which is composed of one or more unit cells. Any two adjacent fuel cell layers have one or more gap regions, respectively. At least a part of the gap region of one fuel cell layer of the adjacent two fuel cell layers is brought into contact with a unit cell constituting the other fuel cell layer. The gap region of the one fuel cell layer and that of the other are communicated with each other. A fuel cell system using such fuel cell stack is also provided. The fuel cell stack has excellent supply performance of fuel or oxidant and high output density.
