<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suture package which is structured to hold one or more barbed suture threads without tangling them. <P>SOLUTION: The suture package includes a suture thread holding member which contains an inner wall and a lateral wall. This inner wall is radially spaced from this lateral wall, and defines a suture holding area therebetween. This inner wall defines a needle holding area, includes at least one opening therein to permit reception of at least one suture thread therethrough. This lateral wall includes two or more tabs, extending inward, configured to engage a cover.
