PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid catalytic cracking catalyst for hydrocarbons with a large fine-pore volume and high wear resistance, and to provide a method for producing the catalyst. SOLUTION: The fluid catalytic cracking catalyst for hydrocarbons is obtained by spraying and drying a slurry mixture containing an inorganic oxide matrix precursor containing basic aluminum chloride and a zeolite, and contains 0.1 to 3 mass% of phosphorus in the form of P2O5.
