LEAD-FREE GLASS FOR COVERING ELECTRODES AND PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE

A lead-free glass for covering electrodes is provided, which can enhance the strength of a front substrate of a plasma display device and can reduce the permittivity thereof. A lead-free glass for covering electrodes, which contains, by mole and in terms of oxides, B2O3: 42 to 52%, SiO2: 40 to 48%, K2O: 3.5 to less than 7%, and ZrO2: 0 to 6% with the total content of B2O3 and SiO2 being 88% or higher; and a plasma display device in which cells are partitioned off by a front glass substrate that functions as a display surface, a rear glass substrate and partition walls, wherein transparent electrodes on the front glass substrate are covered with the lead-free glass.
