<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which automatically switches plural batteries according to a remaining amount of the battery and does not change a photographing function during the use of the photographing function. <P>SOLUTION: When a consecutive shooting mode of a digital camera 1 is enabled, imaging is continuously carried out at a speed according to a battery currently used, while a release button is depressed. A user can set a battery to be used out of a built-in battery 23 and an external battery 24. To supply power to the digital camera 1, the battery specified by the user is used, basically. However, when a remaining amount rate of the battery in use becomes lower than or equal to a predetermined threshold, the battery to be used is automatically switched by a control circuit 16.
