PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device in which irradiation light can be projected against an irradiated object by a simple preliminary work. SOLUTION: The illuminating device in which the projection light is projected against the irradiated object of an optional shape is equipped with a projector 2 that projects projection light including a first irradiation light irradiated so as to cover the irradiated object 10 and a second irradiation light irradiated against other than the irradiated object, a means to measure a distance between the projector 2 and the irradiated object 10 by the work of a user, and a horizontal rotation detecting part 21 and a vertical rotation detecting part 22 which measure angles θ1, θ2 made by the optical axial direction of the projection light projected by the projector 2 by the work of the user and a straight line connecting the projector 2 and the irradiated object 10. The distance measured and the angles measured by the horizontal rotation detecting part 21 and the vertical rotation detecting part 22 are used to control the projection light projected by the projector 2.
