<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device capable of improving strength of an extension part of a substrate on which a drive circuit is mounted, and to provide an electric apparatus including the same. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device includes: a pair of substrates 31, 32 holding an electro-optical substance in between; a cover panel 40 covering the side of one substrate 32 of the pair of substrates; the extension part 37 formed at the other substrate 31 in the pair of substrates and extending outward from the one substrate; and the drive circuit 38 driving the electro-optical substance mounted on the extension part 37 at the side of the one substrate.
