<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input sewing data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sewing machine includes a machine motor 2a, positioning motors 76a and 77a, actuators 42, 80a and 81a to execute motions related to sewing, a display means 74b for displaying prescribed information, and a motion control means 1000 for controlling the motions of the machine motor, positioning motors and actuators based on the sewing data 71a. The sewing machine also has a confirmation motion control means 1000 for controlling the motion to execute a motion confirmation mode in which the sewing motion is reproduced based on the sewing data, and a confirmation display control means for displaying a message confirming the set content of an item set in a number of stitches in the display means, or displaying a confirmation message urging setting of an additional item in the display means when there are no other items in the same number of stitches to be set according to the item, in the process of reproducing the motions one after another in each number of stitches in the motion confirmation mode.
