<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact slide fork without using a special cam-follower short in the shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Three stages or more of slide fork has a base part 221, a middle part 222 advancing-retreating in the predetermined advancing-retreating direction to the base part 221, and a top part 223 advancing-retreating in the advancing-retreating direction to the middle part 222. The base part 221 has a first cam-follower 224 for guiding an advance-retreat of the middle part 222 along a first rail 222a. The middle part 222 has a second cam-follower 226 for guiding an advance-retreat of the top part 223 along second rails 223a and 223b. The first cam-follower 224 has a left side cam-follower and a right side cam-follower on both right-left sides of the base part 221 in the advancing-retreating direction.
