PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-conforming saddle stitching wire inspection device which can detect a non-conforming one showing the failure of complete wire stitching inside a book. SOLUTION: A book conveying means 20 conveys a closed book P in a conveying direction A, and wire magnetizing means 11a and 11b magnetize the wires 13a and 13b of the book P. A book detection means 14 detects the book P passing through a predetermined position. Magnetic field intensity detection means 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d detect the magnetic field intensity of the wires 13a and 13b of the book P when the book P is detected by the book detection means 14. A quality determination means 15 determines the quality depending on whether the magnetic field intensity detected by the magnetic field intensity detection means 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d falls within the range of a normal level or not.
