<p>Apparatus for generating electricity comprises means (1) for feeding particulate material substantially horizontally to a location directly above means (11) mounted for movement in response to an external force applied thereto, whereby the material falls under gravity from the feeding means onto the force responsive means so as to cause movement thereof. Further feeding means (13) feeds the particulate material away from said force responsive means. The further feeding means are located at least partially below the force responsive means to receive the particulate material descending under gravity from the force responsive means. Means (21) are provided for converting the movement of the force responsive means into electricity.</p> |
