PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a password input device easily confirming an error of the number of input characters of a password while maintaining the secrecy of the password. SOLUTION: Identification information recognizable by a user is output according to a predetermined order each time a character as a component of the password is input. The user confirms an error of the number of input characters of the password by collating identification information corresponding to the number of input operations performed by the user with identification information output at the end of the input operations. Since there is no causal relation between password contents or characters constituting the password and the identification information, information which is a clue to the password may not leaked out to a third person.
