<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of examining a diabetic complication accompanying cell proliferation such as proliferative diabetic retinopathy or the like, and a composition and kit useful for diagnosing the diabetic complication. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method of examining the diabetic complication accompanying cell proliferation such as proliferative diabetic retinopathy or the like, either one of the polypeptide, which contains an amino acid sequence shown by the arrangement numbers 1-26 of an arrangement table, in a biosample derived from an examinee, its variant and its fragment or a plurality of ones among them are measured. The composition and kit for diagnosing and/or detecting the diabetic complication accompanying cell proliferation such as proliferative diabetic retinopathy or the like are also disclosed.
