PURPOSE: A driving unit and a display device having the same are provided to reduce current consumption by shortening a transition time of a data voltage. CONSTITUTION: A drive unit comprises a timing controller(100), a data driver(230), and a gate driver(240). The timing controller outputs a video data, a data control signal, a gate control signal, and a switching signal. The data drive comprises a data processing unit(210) and a switching circuit(220). The data processing unit changes the video data into a data voltage. The switching circuit outputs one of the common voltage and data voltage. The gate drive outputs a gate voltage. The switching circuit outputs common data voltage instead of the data voltage.
