A method for ejecting steam in an electric steam iron and an electric steam iron using the same, comprising the steps of: disposing a water pump on a water conduit between a water tank of the electric steam iron and a steam-generating chamber on an iron soleplate; driving the water pump continuously run by means of the motor so as to make the water in the water tank ejected continuously into the steam-generating chamber; heating the iron soleplate by a heating element so as to make the water ejected into the steam generating chamber form steam by means of heating and make the steam ejected from the bottom of the iron soleplate. The present invention uses dynamoelectric means to drive the water pump of the electric steam iron in a creative way, without manual means to press the piston shaft of the water pump. The water pump can be operated as long as the motor runs, and thereby it is convenient and labour-saving to operate. In addition, the ejected steam is also more continuous, powerful and uniform through the continuous action of the pump.
