PURPOSE: A plate type light emitting device is provided to improve the uniformity of surface emission by transmitting light radiated from a light emitting diode from an end part of a transparent glass plate to the whole of the transparent glass plate. CONSTITUTION: A high permeable transparent glass plate(16) is arranged inside a supporting case(11) which is a metal material. A light emitting diode(17) is arranged in order to induce light from an end part of the transparent glass plate. In the front side of the transparent glass plate, a spacer(18) with a square ring shape is arranged. In the back side of a reinforced glass sheet(20), a light diffusion film(19) is adhered. In the back side of the transparent glass plate, a reflecting layer(15) is formed. The transparent glass plate and a reinforced glass sheet are formed into a glass which does not contain a metallic component. |
