PURPOSE: A relay agent apparatus is provided to set up the sub-network information of a subscriber conveniently through snooping of the network information in a DHCP packet message. CONSTITUTION: A message converting unit(325) converts a packet message of DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) client type into a packet message of relay type. In addition, the message conversion unit converts the packet message of the DHCP relay type into the packet message of the DHCP client type. A network information snooping unit(330) performs the snooping of the network information of a message. A network information setting unit(340) sets up the obtained network information as subscriber-sided sub network information.
