The device has an upper casing (1) provided with retaining units (3) for retaining the upper casing on a reception hitch (5) and with a peripheral flange (8) surrounding perimeter of the hitch. The retaining units include a groove axle (19) inserted in a housing (6) of the hitch to receive a semi-trailer pin. A lower face of the upper casing includes a rib or boss (7) placed against a plate (16) of the hitch to avoid gluing of the device on the hitch. Fixation units fix a lower casing on a chassis of a towing vehicle under the hitch and form a grease reception bag under the hitch.
