PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound output device which is able to effectively output a message in sound when required without interrupting the reproduction of the contents as much as possible, while reproducing the contents, to output the message in sound to reproduce. SOLUTION: The content acquisition section 13 obtains the content in the predetermined section from the reproducing content. The content analyzer 14 classifies the obtained content into a number of sections and generates the attribute information of the contents in those sections. The output method determination section 12 decides the control method of the message sound output based at least on the attribute information of each section of the content.
