<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accumulator fuel supply device used for an industrial machine compatibly materializing inhibition of cost increase and inhibition of drop of fuel economy, and a method for controlling the accumulator fuel supply device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The accumulator fuel supply device includes a low pressure pump supplying fuel in a fuel tank to a high pressure pump, a high pressure pump pressurizing fuel and supplying the fuel to a common rail, and a fuel injection valve connected to the common rail and supplying the fuel to cylinders of the internal combustion engine. In the accumulation fuel injection device, the high pressure pump includes a pressurizing chamber pressurizing fuel, a fuel suction valve opened when the fuel is sucked to the pressurizing chamber, and a fuel delivery valve opened when fuel pressurized in the pressurizing chamber is delivered. The device includes a variable restriction means which is disposed in a fuel passage between the low pressure pump and the fuel suction valve and which can select effective passage area of the fuel passage from any of predetermined multiple stage of passage areas, and a control part controlling the variable restriction means.
