The method involves applying a polymer, particularly epoxy resin or polyurethane-based lacquer coating (1) or a sealant on an upper side of a component (2) in an area wise manner. The polymer is dried in a drying phase by electromagnetic radiation (4) with a wavelength between 0.28 micrometer and 4.0 micrometer in an area wise manner. An independent claim is included for a device for the execution of an accelerating method.
