The method involves selecting and pairing a pneumatic cylinder (3), a hydraulic cylinder (4), motors (5), a pneumatic clutch (6), an electrical supply component (7) e.g. power amplifier, a hydraulic supply component (8) and a pneumatic supply component (9) i.e. compressor. A temporal sequence of a production system is determined using the cylinders, motors, clutch and the components with a sequence planning (15). Energy consumption (16) of the components is dissipated. Energy optimization is performed by changing the temporal sequence and the energy consumption of the components.
