PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that performs high-density printing to a solid region in a predetermined region without changing a process condition. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a data receiving unit 123 for receiving, from a higher-level device 129, image data containing the instruction for the high-density printing; a determining unit for determining whether or not the high-density printing is performed based on the image data thus received; a predetermined region-extracting unit 125 for extracting the predetermined region from the image data when the determining unit determines that the high-density printing is performed; a printing data-preparing unit 126 for preparing a first printing data obtained from the extracted predetermined region and a second printing data obtained from the image data; a printing data-storing unit 127 for storing printing data; an image-forming unit 106 for performing printing by using the stored first and second printing data; and a paper-resupplying mechanism unit 128 for resupplying a recording medium to the image-forming unit so that printing can be performed on an identical surface of the recording medium after performing printing onto the recording medium by using either one of the first printing data or the second printing data at the image-forming unit.
