PURPOSE: An image sensor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the deterioration of sensitivity and saturation by forming a moving path of a photo charge between the photo diode and the readout circuit. CONSTITUTION: A readout circuit is formed on a first substrate. A wiring is electrically connected to the readout circuit and is formed on the first substrate. An insulation layer(230) is formed on the wiring. An electrode is formed on the insulation layer. An image sensor is formed on the electrode. A pixel separation region(250) is formed on the image sensor.
