DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING RETAINER-COTTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for assembling retainer-cotter capable of securely fitting a cotter to a shaft member and suppressing occurrence of defective products.

SOLUTION: A large-diameter side end face 104a of the cotter 104 is supported from the lower side by a cotter holder 32 by inserting the shaft member 102 into an inner periphery of the cotter 104 from the upper part thereof. Under this condition, a convex portion 104b of the cotter 104 is suitable for an annular groove 102a of the shaft member 102 and the cotter 104 is taper-suitable for a retainer 103 so that the retainer 103 and the cotter 104 can be accurately assembled to the shaft member 102 as there is no possibility that the cotter 104 becomes unstable.
