<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the problem of causing a mower to accidentally fall upon inspecting or repairing the mower and to improve the safety of the work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The front side of a traveling undercarriage (2) is provided with a mower (4) that transfers standing grain culms backward and upward relative to the mowing direction, and a hydraulic cylinder (7) that ascends/descends the mower (4), wherein the ascending/descending speed of the mower (4) is made variable by controlling the supply of oil to the hydraulic cylinder (7) using an electromagnetic proportional valve (8) and the descent of the mower (4) is suspended by a mowing lock mechanism (9). A controller (13) that prohibits a descending output to the mower upon enables the mower to descend for a first time after releasing the mowing lock mechanism (9) and permits a descending output to the mower (4) after confirming that a main shift lever (12) has been put into the stop position or the mower (4) has been caused to ascend, is included in an ascent/descent controller of the mower.
