<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction magnetic head capable of reproducing a magnetic disk of a high surface recording density, and a magnetic disk device which includes the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The reproducing magnetic head 10 is configured by sequentially stacking a first pin layer 13 including a vertical magnetization film, an exchange coupling control layer 14, a first free layer 15, a barrier layer 16 made of an insulating material, a second free layer 17, an exchange coupling control layer 18, and a second pin layer 19 including a vertical magnetization film. When there is no external magnetic field, the first pin layer and the first free layer and the second pin layer and the second free layer are ferromagnetically coupled together respectively, and the magnetization directions of the pin layer and the free layer are made identical.
