<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely perform color conversion of image data without preregistering a number of pieces of information. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A color conversion device acquires gray data as color information to be referred to (step S20), and obtains projection coordinates (a) when the gray data are projected on a two-dimensional plane (step S30). The projection coordinates (a) are nonlinearly converted to projection coordinates (a') based on a prescribed transformation formula (step S40), and an interpolation coefficient (t) is calculated based on the position relationship between the nonlinearly converted projection coordinates (a') and two reference coordinates v<SB>0</SB>, v<SB>1</SB>preregistered corresponding to two kinds of reference light sources (step S50). A color conversion matrix M is calculated, based on the interpolation coefficient (t) calculated as above and two reference matrices M<SB>0</SB>, M<SB>1</SB>preregistered corresponding to the two kinds of reference light sources (step S60), and the color conversion of the image data is performed based on the color conversion matrix M (step S70).
